We try to have not only less exposure to the stock market, but also identify companies that we believe are going to be hurt by this recession and that may not recover from it. And that is what we do through the shorts, so you get less volatility than a long-only strategy. It is a conservative design but it still provides classic Alger opportunistic equity stock-picking. I believe it could be a good choice for investors who want to reallocate towards equities but want to be cautious about how aggressively they do so in the near term.
